If I am installing new flooring, should I get the painting done before or after?

We recommend new flooring gets installed after painting works are finished. If you are planning on installing flooring be sure to advise our estimators.

What happens with my furniture while you are painting?

We ask all our customers to remove small items from benchtops, tables etc.

All larger furniture is required to be moved (by you) at least 900mm from the walls so as our painters can access walls and ceilings. All furniture will be covered by drop clothes or plastic.

For exterior painting we require our clients to move all potted plants and furniture from the work space as height access equipment may be used.

What needs to be done if we have fixed items on walls before you paint?

If you wish to remove them that would be the best option, otherwise we paint around them if they cannot be removed.

Do I need to remove your curtains / blinds before you paint?

In short, it depends on what we are painting. If you have overhanging curtains / blinds and we are painting the walls we would recommend if possible please remove them, however if this is not possible we can cover them at the time of painting.

If we are painting the window frames, curtains / blinds do need to be removed. If you are unable to remove the curtains / blinds please let us know at the time of quoting your project and we can factor this in for us to do for you.

Do I need to remove light fixtures if you are painting the ceiling?

No, depending on the fixture we will either remove or cover them at the time of painting.

We ask all our customers to remove small items from benchtops, tables etc. as drop sheets over furniture etc. will be used.

Do I have to be home while you are painting?

Only if you want to be. Most people we work for are not home while work is going on. While you are at work or running errands, our crew will be busy painting. We are licensed and fully insured so there is nothing to worry about

What if I want to change something on my paint job or need some additional painting done while the paint crew is already at my home?

Please let our office know about it or feel free to contact Sue directly. Most of the time it is more cost-effective for us to make a change or do additional during the course of the project than to have us come back after the project is complete.

What paint do you use?

All of our projects are conducted using Dulux and Taubmans premium paints.
We firmly believe in using high quality materials from primers to top coats in order to provide our clients with a longer lasting finish and a better return on their painting investment.

Who will be available to answer my questions or to address any concerns I may have throughout my painting project?

Maintaining open line of communication with you is very important to us. Please contact Sue directly for an questions or concerns you may have in regards to your project, along with any changes you would like made. Please feel free to contact our office at any time.

How do I maintain my interior painting job?

Interior paint typically gets dirty in many situations: hand prints around switches and knobs; splashes in kitchens and bathrooms; marks on hallways and corridors; “soot” accumulating above electric lamps and other heat sources. Removing dirt before it accumulates not only improves appearance, it reduces chances of it getting permanently embedded in the paint film.

Check for dirt periodically and assume it will be present in and near cooking areas (airborne cooking oil) and at all places at hand height. Always initially clean the surface with a mild detergent using a sponge or a soft cloth. Resort to harsher cleaners only when necessary, recognising that alkaline cleaners can dull the sheen or gloss of oil based paint. Abrasive cleaner will burnish nearly any paint and will dull the gloss of satin, semigloss and gloss products. Washed surfaces should be rinsed thoroughly because residual cleaner can interfere with adhesion of paint applied later.

How do I maintain my exterior painting job?

On a regular basis you should walk around the exterior of your home looking for dry rot, water penetration, cracks, and chalking. About once a year it is a good idea to pressure wash your home to remove the accumulation of surface dirt.
